"All Gods Creatures"
Fun Times!
We had one of the Board Members as our visiting Priest this month. He is the Dean of St. Michael’s Episcopal Cathedral, in Boise, Idaho. He was at the school all day on Thursday and Friday sharing his time and talents with the children. He led us in the prayer circle and spent his time helping in all three classrooms. He brought us a new song to teach the students, “All God’s Creatures Have a Place in the Choir.”
He also brought each student a new shirt with a quote from the Cheyenne Tribe, “Our first teacher is our own heart.” This was very fitting as this month is Valentines Day.
On Friday we had a teacher come from the Museum of Art In Idaho Falls to teach the students new art techniques. She was losing her voice so she had to speak very quietly. The students were very kind and made sure to listen carefully when she spoke. The K-2 class did a pastel and watercolor painting. The 3-5 grade class did a project on the study of warm and cool colors. I was so impressed with the level of respect the students had for both of our visitors.

Elephants Tooth Paste
Once a month students get the opportunity to participate in Science Club. The students have to earn science club by having good behavior for the entire month. This month each age group did a different Science experiment. The K-2 classroom did Elephant Tooth Paste and the 3-5 grade classroom did an Iodine Time Clock. These two girls had some specific comments about their experience. The kindergartner says, "We poured the thing and it exploded." The second grader writes, "I mixed stuff to make it explode."
The students have a wonderful time each month and really look forward to the science activity.
